House Hunters & old movies

I'm a "This Old House" addict. Oh, and "House". I watch that, too. And a lot of PBS documentaries. And Fox just launched "Drive" which helps to counterbalance all those heavy documentaries. Please, someone, save me from my TV.

I am lucky I don't have cable, cuz I would never leave the sofa. Even so, DWTS is on now, and So You Think You Can Dance will start in May. And, int he pack-up, we've unearthed the old Fred & Ginger movies, plus the tape with Footloose, Flashdance, and Fame. Good times.

I've a standing date with one of my friends to watch 24 every monday, and whenever I'm in Blo-No I watch the Food Network. Though if they started a Rachael Ray network, I'd cut out the middle man and keep that on all the time.

I'm watching Pussycat Dolls Search for the Next Doll and I got to watch some of Drive. I liked it and I'd like to see more of it, but I don't know if I'll ever have the time. I feel like I have to wait for a lot of my shows to go to DVD otherwise I've always got stuff in the way.

Plug - no cable and in actuality we get the best reception on PBS, Fox, and CBS. The last means that I spend too much time ranting about how much I dislike the entire CSI money machine, but especially how much I detest David Caruso and his lame attempts at acting.

Polio - Rachel Ray is half the reason I've quit watching the Food Network even when it is available. I can't stand her voice, not now, not ever.

Dagromm - It sounds like you've found a way to watch "So you think you can dance?", "American Idol", and "Survivor" all at the same time, except all the contestants are in their lingerie all the time. Yep. That's programming for the new millenium.

I am on deathwatch watching series die. Studio 60 was short and sweet; maybe that's best after all. 7th Heaven, The Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars are winding down and maybe CW with them; I'm there at the wake.

I wish I could get excited about Drive. I like Nathan Fillion, Amy Acker and Melanie Lynsky, but what's a road race without Dom DeLuise?

dixiedallas, don't you mean what's a food network without Dom DeLouise?

I'd watch a little Food TV if I had cable. I'd definitely watch HGTV and Inside the Actors Studio. I can't get excited about Drive but do like 24. Although, I started by watching the first five seasons on DVD and now barely have the patience to watch it on regular TV. Same thing happened with Lost. I'll wait till it's all on DVD.

Plug, it sounds like you're very comfortable with delayed gratification - as long as you are well and truly gratified after the delay.

Plug,

This schedule is very packed and leaves very little time for you to sneak into Gyuss-town for our torrid affair.

I don't know if I'm allowed to cross the northern border, so we might be in trouble.

Gyuss, at this point, I'm not I'm allowed to cross the northern border. This schedule would be packed if I had cable but I don't. So, really, I'm only in front of the tube on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Lit - I think you mean what's a Burt Reynolds movie without Dom DeLouise.

Dixie - yuk. What happened to the Sopranos and 6 Feet Under?

goo - I thought "House" was just reruns of This Old House.

Goo said...

No. We determined this morning that reruns of "This Old House" are called "This Really Old House You've Seen Before".

"House" is where I indulge my abject adoration of Hugh Laurie and my sick affection for emotionally crippled men.

Now if the guys on "This Old House" were less approachable and more emotionally distant, I'd watch that in DVD marathons. Sigh. I get dreamy just thinking about it - acidic repartee with moody, complex plumbers, electricians, and general contractors... Why is nobody producing that show? Is it really such a niche market?

Oh, dear goo. . .such lofty expectations, such unrealistic dreams.

Customer: Did you check the water heater?
Plumber: Where is it?
Customer: In the closet next to the bathroom.
Plumber: Your water heater is in the house?
